Pollack Pancake (Dongtae Jeon)
Pollack Pancake is a popular Korean side dish that is often served during holidays and family gatherings. This recipe is simple to make and produces crispy, golden-brown fish pancakes that pair perfectly with a bowl of rice.
Ingredients
- 3 lb frozen pollack fillets
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups Korean pancake mix
- Cooking oil
Instructions
- Thaw the frozen pollack fillets and drain well. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Cut each fillet diagonally into three pieces and butterfly the thickest parts if needed.
- In a bowl, mix the eggs, water, and pancake mix to make a batter.
- Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add cooking oil.
- Dip the pollack pieces into the batter and place them in the pan.
- Cook until golden brown on both sides, flipping occasionally.
- If there is any batter left, make small pancakes with it.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Servings: 10–15 people as a side dish
Cooking Time: About 30 minutes
My Tip
These pancakes taste great with steamed rice and a simple soy sauce dipping sauce. They can also be stored in the refrigerator and reheated the next day.
